Crime Research Strategy Approved to Build National Database

A new strategic plan has been approved to develop research and analytics within the Crime Research Center, introducing a comprehensive national crime database and expanded criminology training programmes.

The plan was authorised by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Minister of Interior in Saudi Arabia, and was developed with input from criminal research and analysis specialists.

The strategy centres on the use of artificial intelligence to analyse data and support crime prediction, alongside the development of a unified national database to strengthen data-driven decision-making.

It also outlines measures to expand collaboration with universities and research centres at both national and international levels, supporting the production of specialised studies and scientific research.

The framework is intended to enhance preventive capabilities within security authorities by improving access to data, strengthening analytical tools and supporting evidence-based policy development.
