Saudi University Secures Five US Patents for Nanotechnology Research
The inventions focus on sensors, smart materials and biological applications.
Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University in Al Kharj has secured five patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a series of nanotechnology innovations developed by researchers at its College of Science and Humanities.
According to the university, the patents cover inventions related to sensors, smart materials and doped nanomaterials designed for biological applications.
The technologies have potential uses across the energy, environmental and healthcare sectors. Among the applications highlighted by the university are systems aimed at improving the production and detection of hydrogen peroxide.
The research also focuses on nanoscale materials engineering and device-oriented designs that can be used in monitoring and diagnostic systems, as well as industrial processes requiring high sensitivity, stability and catalytic performance.
The university said the patents reflect ongoing efforts to strengthen scientific research, expand the innovation ecosystem and enhance knowledge production in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
