MedFest Egypt has opened applications for 'Beyond the Scene: Bitter and Sweet', a visual arts exhibition taking place during the festival's eighth edition from September 10th to 14th at AUC Tahrir Square.

Founded in 2017, MedFest Egypt is the MENA region's first touring international short film festival, bringing together cinema, the arts and health-related social issues through film screenings, workshops and panel discussions.

Open to artists working in visual art, installation, video, sound, performance and interactive media, MedFest is inviting submissions that explore what lies behind the stories we see, focusing on the hidden ideas, creative processes and untold narratives that shape art, culture and our understanding of the world.

To apply, artists should email a short bio (maximum 150 words), an artist statement, a single PDF containing images and details of their work, and any installation or technical requirements to medfestarcade@gmail.com with the subject line "Beyond the Scene – Artist Submission".

Applications close on August 15th. Shortlisted artists will be invited to meet with the curatorial team before the final selection is made.
