Delivery Orders in Saudi Arabia Rise 49% to 118 Million in Q1 2026

Delivery orders in Saudi Arabia exceeded 118 million in the first quarter of 2026, marking a 49% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Transport General Authority.

The figures follow a strong fourth quarter of 2025, when total orders surpassed 124 million, indicating sustained demand across food delivery, retail and e-commerce despite seasonal variations.

Regionally, Riyadh accounted for the largest share of orders at 44%, followed by the Makkah region at 22.21% and the Eastern Province at 16.23%. Madinah represented 4.97% of total orders, with Asir at 3.34%, Qassim at 2.77% and Tabuk at 1.74%. Hail recorded 1.66% and Jazan 1.14%, while Najran, Al-Jouf, Northern Borders and Al-Baha accounted for smaller shares.

The authority attributed the growth to expanded service coverage, improved operational efficiency and faster order fulfilment, as delivery platforms scale across urban and regional markets.

The sector forms part of the Kingdom’s wider digital economy, supported by the growth of e-commerce platforms, food delivery services and last-mile logistics networks. It has also benefited from regulatory reforms and investment programmes aimed at improving logistics performance under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
