Abu Dhabi's Aleria Deploys 16,000 Nvidia Chips to Boost Sovereign AI

Abu Dhabi-based sovereign AI infrastructure provider Aleria is expanding its operations across the UAE and the United States through partnerships with Nvidia and DDN, deploying advanced AI computing infrastructure in both markets.

The rollout includes up to 16,000 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra graphics processing units (GPUs) in the US and 28 racks of Nvidia DGX Vera Rubin NVL72 systems in the UAE, among the first deployments of the platform in the region. According to the company, the infrastructure is already operational in both countries.

The US deployment will initially comprise 8,640 Nvidia Grace Blackwell Ultra GPUs before expanding to 16,000, supported by a 25-megawatt data centre designed for secure AI workloads.

According to Aleria, the latest investment builds on its existing sovereign AI infrastructure serving government entities, national enterprises and critical infrastructure operators. The platform is designed for sectors with strict data residency and regulatory requirements, including government, healthcare, financial services, energy, utilities and telecommunications, offering services spanning data management, cloud orchestration, enterprise applications and AI.

The expansion comes as governments increasingly invest in sovereign AI infrastructure to keep sensitive data within national borders while accelerating AI adoption across public services and strategic industries.
