Khor Al Mamzar Beach Reopens in Dubai After AED 500 Million Upgrade

Khor Al Mamzar Beach has reopened following a major upgrade that introduces new recreational and waterfront features as part of a broader beach redevelopment programme. The project was carried out by Dubai Municipality and forms the first phase of the Al Mamzar Beaches initiative, a AED 500 million development within a wider AED 3 billion masterplan to upgrade beaches across the emirate.
The redevelopment includes a floating walkway connecting both sides of the lagoon, more than 5.5 kilometres of running, walking, and cycling tracks, and an expanded swimming shoreline stretching 3.6 kilometres. A 300-metre night beach has also been introduced, alongside facilities such as an outdoor gym, volleyball and padel courts, and water sports areas.
The sandy beachfront now spans 182,000 square metres, more than double its previous size, following land reclamation works that used 350,000 cubic metres of sand. The expansion was based on environmental studies aimed at supporting coastal conditions and visitor use.
The wider Al Mamzar Beaches initiative also includes Al Mamzar Corniche and is designed to accommodate up to seven million visitors annually once completed.
Further upgrades are planned for additional coastal areas, including Jumeirah 1, Jumeirah 2, Umm Suqeim 1 and 2, and Jebel Ali Beach, as part of the broader redevelopment programme.
