AED 3 Billion Plan to Revamp & Expand Dubai's Public Beaches.
Dubai advances a major beach development programme aimed at boosting capacity and facilities across the coastline.
A AED 3 billion programme to expand and upgrade public beaches in Dubai is progressing, with Al Mamzar Beach nearing completion and expected to accommodate up to seven million visitors annually. The plan is designed to increase overall visitor capacity across Dubai’s beaches by 170%, aligning with the emirate’s Quality of Life 2033 strategy and the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, reviewed progress at Al Mamzar on April 21st, 2026, stating that project delivery would continue without delay and at an accelerated pace.
The Al Mamzar development is positioned as a major family destination and forms part of a broader effort to expand public access, infrastructure and amenities along Dubai’s coastline.
The programme is also tied to long-term urban planning goals aimed at enhancing liveability and supporting population growth, with beach infrastructure playing a role in public space development.
