21 Umrah Service Companies Suspended After Failing Evaluations
Fifteen firms missed quality benchmarks, while six were cited for regulatory violations.
Twenty-one Umrah service companies have been suspended following evaluations conducted after the latest season, according to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
The ministry said the decision came after assessments revealed declining service quality and violations of the regulations governing the sector.
Of the suspended companies, 15 failed to meet the required performance standards, while six were found to have committed regulatory breaches requiring corrective action.
According to the ministry, its evaluation framework relies on operational and supervisory indicators that measure both service quality and compliance with regulations.
Continuous assessment of service providers remains one of the main tools used to improve performance across the sector.
The ministry said the system is intended to encourage competition among companies and raise service standards, while supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to provide a safe and seamless experience for Umrah pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet's Mosque.
Companies found to be in violation are required to implement corrective measures in accordance with the applicable regulations.
The ministry added that monitoring and evaluation will continue to ensure compliance and safeguard pilgrims' rights.
