EFG Hermes Launches Younit for Retail Algorithmic Trading
The platform gives traders, developers and students access to APIs, market data, testing tools and automated trading infrastructure.
EFG Hermes has launched Younit, a retail algorithmic trading API platform designed to give traders, developers and students broader access to its trading infrastructure in Egypt and across the region.
Available through EFG Hermes ONE, Younit provides access to the firm’s trading API and software development kit, allowing users to automate rule-based strategies, test ideas against historical market data, visualise portfolios, build trading applications and use conditional execution tools.
The platform also includes performance-based trading challenges intended to let users compare and refine algorithmic strategies in a practical environment.
“With Younit, we are opening access to the building blocks of smarter trading, automation, market data, APIs, SDKs, and analytics so traders and builders can move from reactive decision-making to more disciplined, data-driven market participation,” said Ahmed Waly, Group Head of Securities Brokerage at EFG Hermes.
EFG Hermes said the platform supports ongoing efforts to modernise the Egyptian Exchange and expand technology-enabled participation in the market. The company also plans to develop Younit as a community hub through competitions, hackathons, university challenges, summer internship programmes and performance leaderboards.
Rana El Sharqawy, Corporate Data Science and Analytics Head at EFG Hermes, said the platform is intended to make algorithmic trading more practical by giving participants access to data, benchmarks, APIs and collaborative challenges.
