CIFF Will Screen Restored Classics in New Programme
The programme brings 24 restored Egyptian films back to the big screen in a celebration of cinematic heritage and the enduring artistry of Egypt’s golden age of film.

The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) has unveiled its Restored Egyptian Classics programme for its 46th edition, set to run from November 12th to 21st, 2025.
The programme brings 24 restored Egyptian films back to the big screen in a celebration of cinematic heritage and the enduring artistry of Egypt’s golden age of film.
The lineup spans decades and styles, featuring works by some of Egypt’s most influential directors, including Youssef Chahine, Salah Abu Seif, Hussein Kamal, Kamal El Sheikh, Henry Barakat, Hossam El Din Mostafa, and Ezz El Din Zulfiqar. Among the selected titles are Alexandria Kaman we Kaman (Youssef Chahine, 1989), Bayn El Qasrein (Hassan El Imam, 1964), El Haram (Henry Barakat, 1965), El Zawga El Thanya (Salah Abu Seif, 1967), and El Tareeq (Hossam El Din Mostafa, 1964).
Other highlights include Said Marzouk’s Zawgeti wel Kalb, Kamal Attia’s Qandil Umm Hashem, and Atef Salem’s Khan El Khalili.
