Raga the SON Joins Grammy Nominated Kumar & Juju Rogers for ‘Blessed’
Egyptian/German producer drops 'Blessed,' the second single from his debut album 'Son of Nile.’
Egyptian/German producer and sound engineer Raga the SON releases ‘Blessed,’ featuring Juju Rogers and Grammy-nominated singer Kumar. The song dropped on March 22nd, and serves as the second single from his upcoming debut album, ‘Son of Nile.’
‘Son of Nile,’ slated for release in early May 2024 via HiaSelf Recordings, the new label by Trip Hop legend Nightmares on Wax, promises to be a mosaic of musical influences reflecting Raga's multicultural background. The album will mark Raga the SON's debut as a recording artist, following his work as a producer and sound engineer. Raised between Egypt and Germany, Raga draws inspiration from a wide range of genres and cultures, aiming to capture that same diversity in his music.
‘Blessed’ exemplifies this global approach. American-German artist JuJu Rogers and Turkish-Berlin based singer Nalan contribute their vocals, creating a harmonious blend. Renowned reggae artist Kumar (formerly of Grammy-nominated Raging Fyah, now known as Original Fyah) brings his distinct vocals and dynamic flows to the track. Raga's production skillfully combines these elements, resulting in a smooth and mellow soundscape that complements Kumar's vocals. The concept of gratitude is central to the song, with a spoken-word section reflecting on being blessed, a theme echoed in Kumar's heartfelt singing in the chorus.
