Health Ministry Opens Seasonal Flu Vaccinations Through Sehhaty
Higher-risk groups including older adults, young children, pregnant women and people with chronic conditions are being urged to get vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health has begun providing the seasonal influenza vaccine, with appointments now available through the Sehhaty application.
The ministry is urging people at higher risk of complications to prioritise vaccination, including those with chronic diseases, people over 50, children aged six months to five years, pregnant women, people with severe obesity and healthcare workers.
According to the ministry, 95.5% of influenza-related hospitalisations last year involved people who had not received the vaccine. It also said vaccination can reduce the risk of death among older people by more than two-thirds.
The ministry recommended receiving the vaccine annually due to changes in circulating influenza strains and encouraged eligible residents to book appointments through Sehhaty.
