World Economic Forum Business Meeting Set for New Capital in November

The World Economic Forum’s two-day Country Strategy Meeting on Egypt will be held in the New Capital on November 16th and 17th, bringing together nearly 80 leaders from major companies, international economic institutions and private-sector firms.

Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and World Economic Forum Chief Executive Officer Alois Zwinggi signed the hosting agreement on October 22nd. Discussions will focus on investment-driven inclusive growth, improving the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy and supporting a shift towards a model more reliant on private enterprise, exports and productivity.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the meeting will also highlight investment opportunities linked to developments in infrastructure, road networks, ports, energy and the banking sector, alongside simplified investment procedures and incentives intended to attract investors.

Zwinggi said the meeting would provide an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors, establish new partnerships and turn shared economic priorities into practical steps supporting sustainable and inclusive growth.

The meeting follows plans announced by the World Economic Forum in Davos in January to hold a dedicated engagement with Egypt, an initiative welcomed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
