Chat Egypt Launches as AI-Powered Fact-Checking Platform
Chat Egypt uses AI to analyse text, images and videos, while government bodies can add verified information directly.
The Cabinet Media Centre has launched Chat Egypt, an AI-based platform designed to monitor, verify and respond to rumours and misleading claims.
Unveiled at Egypt Forum 2026, which began on October 19th, the platform is divided into four sections: News, Awareness, Statistics and Citizen Inquiries.
According to the centre, Chat Egypt can analyse text, images and videos, placing content within its correct timeline and factual context to help identify manipulation or misleading information at an early stage.
The system also allows ministries, government bodies and governorates to add verified information within their areas of responsibility, giving the platform a central pool of official data to draw from. More than 21,000 entries have been uploaded so far, alongside daily statements made by officials in the media.
The platform carries a disclaimer stating that its responses are generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, inaccuracies or outdated information. It also notes that the answers do not replace official documents, laws or government decisions.
Users are advised to check important information against primary sources, legislation or the relevant government authority before relying on it.
