Hassan Allam & OHL Arabia to Build 22.7 KM Saudi Rail Link

OHL Arabia, the Saudi subsidiary of Spanish infrastructure company OHLA, and Hassan Allam Construction Saudi Limited Co, a subsidiary of Egyptian engineering group Hassan Allam Holding, have been awarded a contract by Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) to develop the Dammam Second Industrial City Railway Connection Project.

Located in the Eastern Province, the project will involve the construction of a 22.7-kilometre single-track railway connection serving Dammam's Second Industrial City near the Arabian Gulf.

The joint venture will carry out the full civil and railway works, including foundations, earthworks and track infrastructure, alongside the installation of signalling and telecommunications systems.

The project also includes two major structures: a 265-metre bridge crossing Highway HW615 and a 118-metre bridge spanning the Aramco Pipeline Corridor.

Additional works will be undertaken in coordination with the Saudi Electricity Company to integrate the new line into the wider railway network.

According to Hassan Allam Holding, the contract expands its transport infrastructure portfolio in the region.

The group is currently involved in projects including Cairo Metro Line 4 and the Alexandria Raml Tram in Egypt, the monorail serving Riyadh's King Abdullah Financial District, and the Hafeet Rail network linking Oman and the UAE.
