We Design Beirut Invites Participants for Third Edition in May 2027
Lebanon's international design week is back for its third edition in May 2027. Here's how to apply as an established or emerging designer, with a special exhibit for those 30 or under.
We Design Beirut (WDB) returns for its third edition next spring, running from May 26th to 30th, 2027, under the theme 'Love on the Mediterranean'. Last year's edition welcomed over 130 participants across eight exhibitions, reaffirming Beirut's position as a cultural and creative capital in the region. As part of the upcoming edition, WDB has launched two open calls - here's what you need to know if you'd like to apply.
For the first open call, 'The Shape of Wonder' - set in the historic Maison Tabet and curated by Nathalie Khoury - WDB is welcoming established and emerging creatives from Lebanon and around the world, including designers, architects, artisans and studios. The call is open to all disciplines from interior design and furniture to textiles and graphics.
The second open call, 'The Harvest', is dedicated entirely to showcasing emerging designers aged 30 and under and is co-curated by Claudia Skaff, Galal Mahmoud and Karim Chaya.
To apply for 'The Shape of Wonder', you must first submit your portfolio. If you're selected after review, you'll visit the exhibition venue, then develop your project through a concept statement, initial sketches and supporting visual references. The final stage is selection, where participants are invited to join the exhibition and develop their project alongside the curator. Submissions close on July 15th, 2026.
'The Harvest' is open to students, recent graduates and emerging designers aged 30 and under. To be apply, WDB asks for your portfolio plus a written and visual proposal exploring your idea in detail. The deadline is August 15th, 2026.
