Heavy Rainfall and Strong Winds Expected Across UAE This Week

Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected to sweep across the UAE this week. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicts that the most intense activity will center around a storm cell moving through the Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Dubai corridors later this evening. These weather patterns are expected to continue until Tuesday.

Travelers and commuters are urged to exercise caution as winds reaching speeds of 45 km/h threaten to kick up dust storms. The Ministry of Interior has warned against gathering near dams or valleys during this period of heavy rainfall, with fines reaching up to Dh2,000.

Air travel is also being affected. Major carriers, including flydubai and Air Arabia, have already issued operational alerts, warning that flight departures and arrivals across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah may be disrupted. Passengers are advised to arrive at terminals at least four hours before departure and to monitor their flight status closely.
