Jordan Opens Fentek Academy & Lab to Advance FinTech

The Institute of Banking Studies has inaugurated the Jordanian Fentek Academy building alongside a dedicated Fentek Laboratory, marking a new phase in efforts to develop fintech skills and support digital transformation in the financial sector. The move aligns with the Executive Program for Economic Update 2026–2029, which prioritises innovation, skills development, and technology-led growth.

The new facilities are designed to strengthen human capacity and foster a culture of creativity within Jordan’s financial ecosystem. The Fentek Laboratory functions as an applied training environment, combining theoretical learning with hands-on practice. Trainees are expected to work on developing digital financial solutions while building practical technical skills and an innovation-focused mindset suited to the evolving needs of the sector.

The launch also coincided with the introduction of the Institute of Banking Studies’ 2026 training plan. The programme includes advanced courses aligned with international standards, covering areas such as financial technology, artificial intelligence, data analysis, cybersecurity, blockchain, digital payments, and broader digital transformation.

The Fentek Academy building itself is equipped with smart training halls and an art lab, supported by advanced technologies intended to create an integrated learning environment. Together, the academy, laboratory, and updated training plan reflect a broader ambition to position Jordan as a competitive regional hub for fintech talent and innovation, while supporting the long-term digital development of its financial sector.
