Egypt Targets 15 Million Mobile Phone Output in 2026

Mobile phone production in Egypt is projected to reach around 15 million units in 2026, according to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

The target was outlined during a visit to Beni Suef, where officials linked the increase to ongoing efforts to expand domestic electronics manufacturing and reduce reliance on imports.

Production has grown significantly in recent years, rising from approximately three million units in 2024 to around 10 million in 2025, supported by increased activity from manufacturers operating in the country.

Officials said the sector remains in the early stages of building an integrated electronics manufacturing base, but current growth trends indicate potential for Egypt to develop into a regional hub for production and exports.

Existing operations include a facility run by Samsung Electronics in Beni Suef, which manufactures mobile phones for the local market and exports part of its output, reflecting integration into regional supply chains.
