Tunisia's Balaclava to Host Club Night With UK's Keep Hush May 17
Dedicated to spotlighting the Tunisian underground clubbing scene, the party will feature a slew of local DJs such as Briki, along with Egyptian DJ Yas Meen Selectress and Jordanian producer Big Murk.
Tunisia-bred electronic collective Balaclava has teamed up with UK-based collective Keep Hush to host a special showcase in Tunis on May 17th, spotlighting the Tunisian underground club scene.
The night is an extension of Balaclava’s ‘DEFEND TUNIS’ party series - a subversive response to the current state of the city’s nightlife, dedicated to protecting underground structures and amplifying a new generation of talent and collectives who laid the foundation of the scene, as well as those reshaping the city’s sound through bass music, rave influences, and sound system culture. Unfiltered and community-driven, the party will focus on bass-heavy and hybrid club sounds spanning jungle, dubstep, grime, UK garage, breakbeat, and baile funk, reflecting the diversity of influences shaping Tunis today.
The lineup features a slew of trailblazing local and regional acts, headlined by Egyptian DJ Yas Meen Selectress and Jordanian producer Big Murk, alongside homegrown artists Briki, NZX, Samar, Karmasmatik, and Damkina, with Kaizen on opening duties.
The event will take place at AINA in Gammarth. Tickets are now available via the link in @dfnd.tunis’ Instagram bio.
