Students Filming Teachers at School Face One Year Expulsion

The Ministry of Education and Technical Education has directed schools nationwide to expel students for one academic year if they photograph or record teachers inside school grounds with the purpose of abusing, bullying or publicly shaming them.

Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif issued the guidance under Ministerial Decision 150 of 2024, which governs school incentives and discipline.

The directive applies when a student uses any photography or recording device to target a teacher through abuse or bullying, including by publishing the material on social media. Students found to have committed the violation are to be expelled from their school for a full academic year.

The ministry said the directive is intended to protect teachers’ dignity and maintain discipline within schools, with the penalty to be applied uniformly nationwide.
