Madinah Launches New Food Safety Inspection Campaign

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture’s Madinah Region branch launched its 13th regulatory campaign, targeting food-related establishments across the region.

The campaign combines field inspections with awareness activities for workers, with teams checking compliance with approved health requirements and operational standards for food handling, storage and preparation.

Inspection teams will visit establishments to assess day-to-day practices and verify that procedures align with regulations in force for the sector. Checks will cover kitchens, storerooms, service areas and other spaces where food is handled or prepared.

Alongside the inspections, workers will receive guidance on food safety risks and on correct procedures for handling, storing and preparing food. The sessions are intended to help prevent practices that could create health risks for consumers.

The campaign forms part of the ministry branch’s ongoing regulatory work in Madinah, pairing compliance checks with direct education for employees in food-related businesses.
