East Nile Monorail to Offer Free Overnight Rides for Egypt vs NZ Match
Fans heading to the New Administrative Capital's public screenings can travel free from 8 PM to 8 AM.
Football fans heading to the New Administrative Capital to watch Egypt's clash with New Zealand at the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be able to ride the East Nile Monorail free of charge overnight on June 21st and 22nd.
According to the National Authority for Tunnels, the exceptional service will run from 8 PM on June 21st until 8 AM the following day to facilitate access to the Egyptian Fan Zone in the Green River area, where the match will be shown on a giant screen.
During the free operating window, trains will run directly between Al Mostathmereen Station and R2 Station in the New Administrative Capital to support the movement of supporters.
The free service will be available to passengers presenting a valid ticket or QR code. The authority said regular daily hours for the East Nile Monorail will remain unchanged, with services continuing to run from 6 AM to 6 PM. The exceptional overnight operation applies only between June 21st and 22nd.
