50% Off East Nile Monorail Tickets on Weekends & Holidays for Three Mo
The discounted fares begin May 15th and apply to the first operational phase of the East Nile Monorail.
The Ministry of Transport will introduce a 50% discount on full-fare tickets for the first phase of the East Nile Monorail on Fridays, Saturdays, and official holidays for a three-month period beginning May 15th, 2026.
The discounted fares apply to weekend and holiday travel across the initial operational segment of the line. According to the ministry, the measure is intended to encourage visitors to travel to the New Administrative Capital and explore its newly developed districts and landmarks while also easing traffic congestion and reducing travel times through the use of public transport.
Officials added that the initiative is also aimed at improving passenger experience by providing a more flexible and cost-effective transport option during the introductory phase of operations.
The ministry stated that services on the first phase are currently operating through modern train systems serving 16 stations, including Al Moshir Tantawy, One Ninety, Air Hospital, Al Narges, Al Mostathmereen, Lotus, Golden Square, Bait Al Watan, Al Fattah Al Aleem Mosque, R1 District, R2 District, Business and Finance, City of Arts and Culture, Government District, Misr Mosque, and City of Justice. Existing half-ticket pricing for passengers over the age of 60 and for people with disabilities will remain unchanged.
The ministry also confirmed that weekly, monthly, and quarterly subscription systems will continue under current pricing structures.
According to officials, subscription rates have already been designed to provide discounts reaching around 50% of standard ticket prices while remaining significantly lower than alternative transport costs.
