180 Modern Heritage Landmarks Added to Riyadh Register

A total of 180 modern urban heritage landmarks have been registered and coded in Riyadh as part of a project led by the Heritage Commission in cooperation with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and Riyadh Municipality.

The registered sites have been added to the National Urban Heritage Register, with standardised signboards featuring QR codes installed to provide information about each landmark and highlight its recognised heritage value.

According to the Heritage Commission, the locations represent important milestones in Riyadh's 20th-century architectural history, documenting the capital's urban transformation and the evolution of its construction methods and urban planning.

The project establishes an official record of the city's modern built heritage while contributing to the Kingdom's broader National Urban Heritage Register, which documents historically and culturally significant urban sites across Saudi Arabia.
