National Experts Program Launches First AI Learning Module

The National Experts Program (NEP) has launched the first technical learning phase of its AI Track, introducing the inaugural module, 'AI Foundations and the AI Stack'. The programme was launched in the presence of Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology.

The module examines how AI systems are built, trained and deployed, covering topics including AI compute, data infrastructure, model development and governance. It is designed to establish a common technical foundation before later modules on leadership, strategy and innovation.

As part of the programme, participants will visit the Technology Innovation Institute and ADIA Lab, where experts will discuss AI infrastructure, compute resources and the development of the UAE's AI ecosystem.

Al Olama said investing in national talent is essential to strengthening the country's long-term position in artificial intelligence and preparing a workforce with both technical expertise and strategic insight.

The programme will conclude with a capstone project, requiring participants to apply their technical knowledge to organisational and national challenges through practical AI solutions.
