Gizapolitan Opens Global Call for Giza-Inspired Artworks
Selected works will be showcased at a pop-up exhibition overlooking the Pyramids, with submissions open until August 23rd.
Gizapolitan, the sister brand of Cairopolitan, has opened submissions for the second edition of its Giza Prints pop-up exhibition, inviting artists, illustrators and graphic designers from around the world to create original works inspired by Giza.
Selected pieces will be exhibited at a venue overlooking the Pyramids of Giza, with this year's theme encouraging creative interpretations of the city's landmarks, architecture, rural landscapes and everyday life. Artists are invited to explore subjects including the Pyramids, the Sphinx and the distinctive character of Giza through their own visual style.
Submissions can take the form of posters, postcards, stickers, T-shirts and tote bags, with no limit on the number of entries. Applications are open until August 23rd, with works to be submitted via email to studio@cairopolitan.com under the subject line 'Giza Prints 2'.
The open call follows Cairopolitan's recent launch of submissions for the seventh edition of Cairo Prints, which invites artwork inspired by Egyptian typography, folk art, cinema, music and drama. Entries for Cairo Prints 7 close on July 31st.
