This New Cairo Spot is Serving Matcha Foul for Sohour
Bake Bar x Tehina’s sohour collab includes matcha foul, smoked foul, and Nashville ta’ameya at Leven Square Mall, New Cairo.
If you thought foul had reached the end of its evolutionary line, Bake Bar and Tehina are here to prove otherwise.
For sohour, the two have teamed up to create a menu that feels slightly illegal, taking Egypt’s most sacred staple and running it through a lineup of unexpected twists. The foul alone is doing the absolute most. There’s matcha foul (!), smoked foul, and even foul meatballs, which feel like the logical next step once you’ve already committed to chaos.
Ta’ameya isn’t spared either. The menu leans fully into the remix with hot honey ta’ameya, and Nashville fried ta’ameya, giving the humble falafel a spicy, crunchy glow-up.
Even the eggs got the experimental treatment, with options like Japanese tamago, and eggs topped with agwa and caramelised onion.
