UAE Media Council Extends Advertiser Licence Deadline to January 2026

The UAE Media Council has extended the deadline for content creators and advertisers to obtain the Advertiser licence to January 31st, 2026. The extension applies to individuals and entities engaged in advertising activities on social media platforms across the country.

The UAE Media Council said over 1,800 Advertiser licences have been issued since the permit was launched to regulate and promote advertising activity nationwide. The initiative forms part of wider efforts to strengthen the country’s position as a global hub for advertising content creation. The council outlined that the uptake reflects continued engagement from the sector as stakeholders align with the licensing framework.

According to the UAE Media Council, the Advertiser licence seeks to support investment in the advertising content industry, enhance the competitiveness of the digital advertising sector, and attract and empower creative talent. It also aims to protect the public from advertisements that do not meet approved standards and prevailing societal values. These objectives are tied to the council’s mandate to organise and oversee advertising practices on digital platforms within the UAE.
