Saudi Students Win 129 International Science Awards in 2025
More than 31,000 students across the Kingdom benefited from Mawhiba's programmes to nurture gifted students in 2025.
Saudi Arabia’s Mawhiba announced that students supported by the foundation secured 129 international awards in 2025, following participation in 26 global Olympiads and the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
In a year-end statement, Mawhiba said Saudi national teams won a total of 996 awards across scientific competitions during 2025. Saudi Arabia also maintained its second-place global ranking at ISEF, continuing a strong performance in international student science and innovation contests.
The foundation attributed these results to its ongoing partnership with the Ministry of Education, which focuses on identifying and developing gifted students through structured programmes at local, regional and international levels.
According to Mawhiba, more than 31,000 students across the Kingdom benefited from its programmes during the year. Interest in talent identification also continued to rise, with applications to the National Program for Gifted Identification exceeding 95,000 students in 2025.
Mawhiba operates as a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting academically gifted students in Saudi Arabia, with programmes spanning science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines.
