Saudi Cement Sales Fall 4.7% in Q1 2026
Sales dropped to 12.76 million tonnes as inventories rose and geopolitical pressures affected construction activity.
Cement sales in Saudi Arabia fell 4.7% year-on-year to 12.76 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2026, according to a report by Al Rajhi Capital.
In March, volumes declined 6.7% compared to the same month last year and dropped 21.3% from February to 3.37 million tonnes.
The report attributed the decline to seasonal factors, including the holiday period, as well as the impact of regional geopolitical developments, which weighed on construction activity.
Among producers, Yamama Cement held the largest market share during the quarter at 14.2%, followed by Saudi Cement at 12.8% and Qassim Cement at 12.1%.
Despite the drop in sales, clinker inventories rose 2.1% month-on-month to 43.6 million tonnes, indicating stable production levels.
Southern Province Cement Company recorded the highest inventory levels, equivalent to around 18 months of average sales, reflecting continued stock accumulation amid softer demand.
