Photographers Maged Helal and Kerolos Salah Die on Set in Port Said

Egyptian photographers Maged Helal and Kerolos Salah have died after reportedly falling from a crane while shooting on location in Port Said.
A source close to one of the photographers told Cairo 24 in an anonymous statement that the two had been asked to climb a crane without safety measures in place.
Following the tragedy, filmmaker Amr Salama offered his condolences to the families and friends of the late photographers, calling for an official investigation. In a post, he questioned the lack of safety precautions on set, writing: “Our condolences to all who loved photographer Maged Helal. His death is terrifying and demands clarification and investigation. If the story is true, how could he be asked to shoot from a crane without protection and fall from it?”
