Mother & Child Injured from Fallen Debris at Abi Dhab's Etihad Towers

Debris from a downed Iranian drone wounded a woman and her child at the Etihad Towers complex in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, March 1st, authorities said.

UAE officials said the drone had been intercepted by the country’s air defence systems before fragments fell onto one of the residential towers. The two injured sustained minor wounds, according to authorities.

The impact also caused material damage to the building. No further information was released on the scale of the damage or whether additional casualties were reported.

The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions that have led to increased air defence activity and precautionary measures across Gulf states.
