Egypt’s Parliament Approves New Cabinet Line-Up
Among the changes announced were appointments to key portfolios, including economic, social, and strategic sectors.
Egypt’s House of Representatives has formally approved a cabinet reshuffle proposed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and put forward by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, introducing 13 newly appointed ministers into the government.
The reshuffle includes changes across key economic, social, and strategic portfolios, bringing fresh faces to ministries such as Transport, Health, Local Development and Environment, and Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, among others.
President El-Sisi had previously discussed the reshuffle with Prime Minister Madbouly, stressing the need for the renewed cabinet to deliver on priorities related to national security, economic growth, production, energy and food security, and human development.
Under Egypt’s constitution, the president may propose cabinet changes following consultation with the prime minister, with final approval required from the House of Representatives - a process that was completed today, February 10th.
The latest reshuffle follows the previous major cabinet adjustment in July 2024, which saw changes across 20 ministerial portfolios.
