The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is launching an initiative to protect school and university students from harmful content on the internet and social media with a new curriculum. The ‘Harmful Use of Internet’ initiative aims to promote digital media literacy through seminars and workshops. The ministry is also working to eradicate digital illiteracy for students by establishing many modern programs in new private and technological universities across the country.

Additionally, the campaign aims to confront rumors on social media and websites in cooperation with the Media Center of the Council of Ministers. The ministry also highlighted their cooperation with Al-Azhar to produce work that is appropriate for children and reflects teachings of religion.
