27 AI Vehicles to Monitor Public Spaces in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi has expanded its smart inspection fleet with 27 AI-powered vehicles.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality has expanded its smart inspection fleet to 27 AI-powered vehicles under the Unified Inspection System, aimed at improving monitoring across public spaces.
The vehicles operate without human intervention, using intelligent sensing and automated analysis to detect visual issues and transmit real-time data to relevant teams.
Equipped with advanced cameras and detection systems, the units are integrated with digital platforms including geographic information systems and the Smart Hub within the Unified Inspection System. The setup enables wider coverage, particularly in high-risk and hard-to-reach areas, while reducing reliance on manual inspections.
The deployment has coincided with an increase in detected visual distortion cases, rising from 3,632 in 2024 to 18,851 by the end of 2025, a 419% increase. Officials said the rise reflects improved detection accuracy and expanded monitoring coverage rather than a deterioration in conditions.
The vehicles can identify irregularities and automatically share precise location data, allowing field teams to respond more efficiently and target specific areas.
According to the municipality, integrating automated analysis with digital platforms has enhanced decision-making, improved response times and reduced operational costs.
