AED 1,000 Fine Set for Noisy Vehicles & Illegal Modifications
New penalties impose AED 1,000 fines, 12 black points and 30-day impoundment for noisy vehicles and illegal modifications in the UAE.
Penalties have been set for vehicles producing excessive noise or undergoing unauthorised modifications in the UAE, with fines of AED 1,000 alongside additional enforcement measures.
According to the Ministry of Interior, violations also carry 12 black points on a driver’s record and a 30-day vehicle impoundment.
The measures apply to vehicles that disturb public comfort due to loud noise, as well as those with engine or chassis modifications carried out without official approval.
Such offences fall under Article 73 of the Schedule of Violations in Ministerial Resolution No. 178 of 2017, which governs traffic control rules and procedures.
Authorities stated that noise from modified vehicles can impact residents, with enforcement targeting both excessive sound levels and unauthorised structural changes.
Motorists have been urged to comply with regulations and avoid modifications that affect safety standards or public comfort, as monitoring and enforcement continue across the country.
