24/7 Food Safety Inspections Rolled Out in Ras Al Khaimah
Round-the-clock Ramadan checks target high-risk outlets and hygiene compliance.
Round-the-clock food safety inspections have been launched in Ras Al Khaimah for Ramadan, with intensified field monitoring aimed at protecting public health during the holy month.
The campaign, led by the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Municipality, is based on a risk-based strategy designed to ensure compliance with approved health and safety standards. Inspection operations are being conducted across three daily shifts to maintain continuous field supervision as food consumption increases.
Teams are prioritising high-risk establishments, including traditional kitchens, hypermarkets, automated bakeries and confectionery shops. The focus is on safe handling, storage and display of food, as well as adherence to hygiene and regulatory requirements. Checks include temperature control, storage conditions, preparation practices and overall compliance with approved regulations.
Preventive visits were expanded ahead of Ramadan and will continue throughout the month. The municipality has also organised pre-Ramadan workshops for food handlers and safety officers to reinforce best practices. Serving food inside restaurants during daytime hours remains permitted under existing regulations, while displaying food outside commercial premises during Ramadan is prohibited.
