Red Sea Fund Opens Film Submissions Until February 21st

The Red Sea Fund is now accepting applications from Arab and African filmmakers with long film projects, offering post-production funding to help spotlight fresh narratives that capture the diverse voices and experiences of the Arab and African world. Submissions are open until February 21st to fast track films to production, and enable them to get ready for distribution and exhibition.

Organised by the Red Sea Film Foundation, the Red Sea Fund has supported over 250 films since its first edition in 2021. On top of financial support, the foundation champions initiatives such as celebrating women in cinema by funding female filmmaker projects, and rewarding projects with prestigious recognition and financial prizes.

The fund works across four stages, encompassing projects in development, production, and post-production. They're open to a variety of formats, including documentaries, fiction, animation and short films. While the first phase is dedicated to post-production funds for long film projects that are at least 60 minutes long, the second phase will commence in April, offering a production fund for films that are still heading to production.
