Egypt & Intel to Train One Million People a Year in AI

Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Intel have signed a memorandum of understanding to train one million citizens each year for three years in artificial intelligence.

The programme will begin with Intel’s AI for Citizens initiative and will cover core AI concepts, safe and responsible technology use and digital trust, with training delivered through digital platforms.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi said AI has become a key driver of economic competitiveness, development and improved public services. He added that the second edition of Egypt’s National AI Strategy for 2025 to 2030 is focused on maximising the economic and social benefits of AI technologies.

The cooperation will also include technical workshops and training on Intel’s latest AI infrastructure and computing technologies, alongside efforts to build a pool of qualified trainers.

Outstanding participants will be supported to join an annual AI hackathon, with selected projects and innovations prepared for presentation at Intel’s global AI Impact Festival.

Intel said the programme will focus on expanding practical AI understanding among young people, teachers, companies and institutions, while placing responsible use alongside technical skills.
