The Red Sea Fund is Giving Filmmakers Money to Finish Their Projects
Applications for the fourth 2026 cycle are open until July 21st, targeting Arab, African and Asian feature films that have wrapped shooting and just need that final push through post-production.
The Red Sea Fund, a programme under the Red Sea Film Foundation, opened its fourth cycle for 2026 on July 6th, offering grants for filmmakers dedicated entirely to the post-production stage.
The cycle is open to feature-length narrative and animated films running 60 minutes or more, submitted by Arab, Arab-origin, African and Asian filmmakers whose projects have completed filming and are being prepared for their final versions. The fund runs four cycles each year, covering development, production and post-production, with the goal of getting finished films in front of regional and international festivals and screening platforms.
Since launching in 2021, the Red Sea Fund has backed more than 280 films with grants totalling USD 15 million. Beyond the cheques, it runs programmes supporting women working in cinema, builds partnerships with international film festivals, and hands out awards to standout projects.
Applications close on July 21st. Filmmakers can apply for the fourth cycle through the Red Sea Film Festival website.
