Lebanese-Palestinian Label Elissarrr Drops Monobloc Necklace

The white plastic chair of every balcony, street café and cousin’s wedding has gone conceptual. For Elissarrr’s latest drop, the Monobloc Necklace, created by Lebanese-Palestinian designer Elissar El Hammoud shrinks that universal object down to a 925 sterling silver pendant, cast in Germany and worn like a quiet ode to the familiar, nostalgic infused chairs we grew up sitting on.Born to a Lebanese mother and Palestinian father, Elissar is a diasporic image-maker who treats nostalgia like raw material. Her world first unfolded through Heimweh, a homesick debut collection that printed her grandmother’s house in Sayda across body-hugging lycra – dresses, tops and skirts turned into soft-sculpture archives. Now, with Monobloc, she trades photographs for pure form, using the humble chair as shorthand for everything that happens around it: the family gossip, the post-dinner chatter, the plastic stacked after the party.Dropping November 16th as a first edition of just 50 pieces, available only on elissarrr.com, the Monobloc Necklace is a small reminder that the most “basic” objects in our lives can carry the weight of our stories.
