This Designer Made a Bag That Looks Like an Egyptian Car License Plate
69 R7r7a has turned the Egyptian car license plate into a one-of-one upcycled denim bag.
Egyptian car license plates have officially found a new way to get around Cairo, and this time they're hanging off your shoulder.
Created by Cairo-based brand 69 R7r7a, the Egyptian Car Banner is a one-of-a-kind crossbody made from upcycled denim and cotton. It features the letters “حر” alongside the number 69, with “EGYPT” emblazoned across its blue-and-white design.
The bag also taps into the brand's ethos, which it describes as a contemporary approach to survival through repurposing heritage to reflect what's unfolding in the city. It's a fitting idea for a brand that's previously turned a traditional Egyptian coverta into a full-length coat, finding new life for familiar materials in unexpected places.
And while we can't promise this bag will help you escape a traffic jam on the Ring Road, it might just be a stylish way to carry a little piece of the Egyptian streets with you.
