Shunus Gets Extra Funky on Tech House EP ‘Second Face’ via DancIN'

Shunus, a Cairo-based British producer and live performer who has been steadily carving out his own corner of the city’s underground electronic scene, has joined Gawdat’s MENA-wide DancIN’ label with a new EP, ‘Second Face’.

The two-track EP sees Shunus expanding his highly danceable sound into brighter, funkier territory with an exuberant tech-house fusion that highlights his penchant for warm sonic textures and funky craze.

The opening track, which has been circulating across global dancefloors like Burning Man, is fresh, fun and deliciously romp cut with a certain type of swung groove that is very much Shunus’. Throughout the three-minute listen, Shunus’ accapella vocals filter through drops and builds, groovy guitar progressions, and horn stabs that echo cues from Ricardo Alcantara & Fatboi’s ‘Masticalo’ remix.

Following suit, ‘The Needle’ stands out with its flying colours and patterns, deep groove cuts and unexpected drops that could kindly knock the most discerning of ravers off their perch.
