DINA Re-Releases ‘Where There’s Smoke’ to Raise Funds for Lebanon
The track has been reissued via German imprint, Nachtcrew, with 50% of the proceeds from its sale to be donated to Lebanon Emergency Relief.
Berlin-based Egypt-raised DJ and producer Dina Khashan, also known as DINA, has reissued one of her earliest tracks, ‘Where There’s Smoke’, via German-based imprint Nachtcrew to raise funds for the people of Lebanon.
50% of all the proceeds accumulated from the sale of the record will be donated to the Lebanon Emergency Relief, in order to provide humanitarian aid for displaced families and victims of Israeli attacks on Lebanon. Meanwhile, the remaining half will be donated to LARA, a specialist office and counselling centre dedicated to supporting victims of sexual violence.
Written, produced and mixed by Dina Khasan, and mastered by Joel Krozer, ‘Where There’s Smoke’ is an intense club-focused mix of trance and driving techno cut that was originally released on Berlin-based label Global Amnesia. Fast, dark and uncompromising, the track’s production is built around a relentless wobble of synth stabs and frenetic percussion, densely packed with atmospheric, futuristic effects that create an immersive, 3D soundstage.
