Saudi Arabia Imported 1.9 Million Vehicles Over Two Years
China emerged as the Kingdom's largest vehicle supplier between 2024 and 2025.
Saudi Arabia imported approximately 1.9 million vehicles during 2024 and 2025, with China emerging as the Kingdom's leading supplier, according to data from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.
Imports reached around 942,118 vehicles in 2024 and rose to approximately 959,403 vehicles in 2025.
China ranked first among exporting countries over the two-year period, followed by Japan, India, Thailand and South Korea. The United States placed sixth among the Kingdom's top vehicle suppliers.
The figures come as efforts continue to strengthen local automotive supply chains and reduce reliance on imported vehicles.
According to a government report, Saudi Arabia's automotive market ranks among the world's top 20, while Gulf Cooperation Council countries account for more than half of vehicle sales in the Kingdom.
To support domestic manufacturing capabilities, the King Salman Automotive Complex has been established within the King Abdullah Economic City Special Economic Zone.
The complex is home to the factory of Seer, Saudi Arabia's first electric vehicle brand, as well as Lucid Motors, which opened its first international manufacturing facility in King Abdullah Economic City in 2023.
