Maadi Residents Can Now Access Local Services via QR Code

The District of Maadi in Cairo has introduced a QR code giving residents access to a digital guide for selected public services, with the aim of reducing unnecessary visits and helping applicants prepare required documents in advance.

Through the guide, residents can review conditions, paperwork and procedural steps before submitting applications at district offices, making it easier to arrive with a complete file on the first visit.

The first phase covers shop licensing, including requirements for commercial activity licences; registration of residents’ unions for residential properties; and vehicle parking services, including rules and permit procedures for designated parking areas.

The QR code forms part of a broader digital transformation plan being implemented under the Cairo Governorate, with additional municipal services expected to be added gradually.

The longer-term aim is to bring more neighbourhood procedures into a single digital entry point, allowing residents to check requirements and complete more preparatory steps before visiting government offices.
