Foreign Ministry & Journalists Syndicate to Hold Policy Briefings
The new cooperation will include recurring foreign policy briefings for Egyptian media alongside joint training and capacity-building programmes.
Regular foreign policy briefings will be introduced for Egyptian journalists under a new agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates and the Journalists Syndicate.
The sessions will outline the main determinants of Egyptian foreign policy across regional and international issues, while joint training and capacity-building programmes will provide reporters with additional context on complex diplomatic and geopolitical files.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Journalists Syndicate head Khaled El-Balshy, attended by Mohamed El-Shazly, head of the syndicate’s Arab and Foreign Affairs Committee. The talks focused on expanding cooperation and establishing more structured communication between the ministry and the national press.
The planned briefings will be accompanied by educational events covering Egypt’s foreign policy and positions on regional developments, giving journalists recurring access to policy-focused updates rather than relying solely on individual announcements or statements.
Abdelatty highlighted the role of the press in informing public understanding of regional risks, national priorities and developments across different sectors. El-Balshy, meanwhile, called for further expansion of cooperation between the ministry and the syndicate in the coming period.
