Elsewedy Electric's Manal Hassan Shortlisted for Global Sustainability

Manal Hassan, Group Chief Sustainability Officer at Elsewedy Electric, has been shortlisted for the Sustainability Hero Award at the Global Sustainability Awards 2026, joining a select group of sustainability leaders from global organisations including Schneider Electric, Hilton, Liverpool Football Club and Grundfos.

Hassan is the only nominee representing an Egyptian company. The winners will be announced on September 8th at a ceremony in London.

Hassan has led Elsewedy Electric's sustainability strategy since 2017, overseeing the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles across the group's operations. During her tenure, the company became the first Egyptian business to publish ESG reports and the first in the Middle East and Africa to receive ISO 14067 certification for its carbon footprint. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Elsewedy Electric Foundation.

The Global Sustainability Awards recognise organisations and individuals driving measurable environmental and social impact across industries, with this year's Sustainability Hero category honouring executives shaping the future of corporate sustainability on a global scale.
