Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Unveils AI Platform for Clinical Decisions
Built with Owkin, the agent analyses real time patient data with an initial focus on prostate cancer.
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and AI biotech company Owkin have unveiled Aila, described as the world's first clinical artificial intelligence scientist, designed to help physicians make faster decisions by analysing patient data in real time.
The platform brings together fragmented clinical information into a single interface, allowing doctors to query large volumes of data and receive insights that could otherwise take days or weeks to uncover manually.
During its initial rollout, Aila will focus on prostate cancer, integrating electronic health records, physician notes, pathology reports and medical imaging.
Built on Owkin's agentic K Pro platform, the system is supported by the UAE's AI infrastructure and is designed to expand into additional medical specialties over time.
According to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Owkin, the platform is intended to provide clinicians with consolidated, searchable information at the point of care, helping them navigate increasingly complex datasets.
Future versions are expected to incorporate genomic and multi-omics data as part of broader precision medicine initiatives. The system is also designed to support researchers by identifying patterns that are difficult to detect manually, creating a feedback loop between patient care and scientific discovery.
By tracking outcomes and generating insights from real-world data, the partners say the platform could help healthcare institutions continuously improve clinical performance.
